Rev. Lauren Smith
Growing vibrant multi-generational religious communities, with love at the center.

My Ministry
I have faith in the power of our Unitarian Universalist congregations to heal and transform individuals and society. I wish to serve a congregation that cherishes the power of its ministry, a multi-generational community that is warm and purpose-filled. So much is possible when we come together, connecting and serving to bring wholeness, life and freedom to ourselves and the world.
Preaching
Worship is the heart of congregational life, a time when the whole community gathers, reaffirms its commitments and direction, and rests in the compassionate comfort of the sanctuary. My preaching includes consolation and challenge, in keeping with the spirit of our living Unitarian Universalist tradition. In word and song, silence and practice, through innovation and ritual, we c0-create transformative sacred space.
Connecting
Connection begins by showing up—greeting members on Sunday mornings as they enter the church, reaching out in good and difficult times, and simply enjoying each other’s company in informal gatherings. Trust expands in the warmth of relationship, making space for personal and collective spiritual growth.
Teaching
Learning is an essential part of the spiritual path—learning about our own and other religious traditions, developing spiritual practices, and growing our ability to act in service to a better, more just world. All ages thrive in a setting of curiosity, reflection, practice and exploration.
